Gorham’s favorite tourist attractions, Great Glen Trails and Mt. Washington Auto Road are both open for the season and looking forward to your visit! Located just 8 miles from the Royalty Inn, Great Glen Trails & Outdoor Center offers biking & hiking on their manicured network of trails, plus guided rafting & canoeing trips on nearby rivers and lakes. In the Outdoor Center, breakfast & lunch is served daily at the Glen View Café . Also, check out the terrific gift shop which includes quality clothing, books, maps and local crafts.

Perhaps the most popular attraction is the Mt. Washington Auto Road located just across Rt. 16 from the Outdoor Center. With an elevation of 6289 feet, the summit of Mt. Washington is accessed via an 8 mile narrow, gnarly and steep road. You can drive it yourself or take a guided tour in a “Stage Coach” that seats 10 guests.   The Stage Coach drivers are chocked full of information and history about the mountain and its road. On top, visit the observation deck, snack bar and museum that is currently featuring the exhibit “Extreme Mt. Washington”.
